Cutest Summer Romper

Rompers have been an on going trend for awhile now. So much so, that men are catching on and slaying on the daily. Last year, I couldn’t find any rompers that I liked, but now they’re all over the place.

My favorite one that I got a few months ago (on sale), is this black towel romper with white piping. Check this look below:

(Towel sold separately –at Walmart)

I usually hate sleeveless everything. Sleeveless dresses, tops, all that, no thanks. But this romper is one of my most prized summer possesions. I’m in love with it.

I love swimming. It’s an activity my boyfriend and I do on a regular basis (when the weather calls for it). But there are many aspects of swimming I hate. I hate changing. The process of changing out of a soaking wet swim suit in a public place (if we swim at the lake) into dry clothes is a very uncomfortable experience. But, you can’t just slip on shorts or shirts over you suit without embarrassingly soaking your change of clothes. With this romper, you CAN just slip it on over your clothes, and be simultaneously cool while drying your swim suit, because it’s a TOWEL.

This is one of those clothing pieces you could see yourself living in. I probably will be this summer. I got this gem at Hollister, and like I mentioned it was on sale. So it was probably really popular last summer and I’m slow on the game. But if you can find one of these, GET IT. You will thank me. I expect a thank you card in the mail.

Thanks for reading. A huge shout out to Chesley for taking these stunning pics! You’re the best girl.

Peace,

Short H & M Haul

I think H&M is my favorite store. They have basics (like Jean shorts and tank tops) but they also have more personable clothing (like cigarette pants and graphic tees). I’m a huge fan of their graphic t-shirts.

Yesterday, which was Monday, my friend and I went to H&M and I picked up a few things. I consider this to be part one of a summer haul, because I still have a lot more clothing to get for the summer. But this is a good start. And I wanted to share these things with you all.

The first thing we have is this super cute T-shirt. H&M clothing runs very small in my opinion, so to prevent this thin -see through- shirt from sticking to my body, I sized up to a large. I really like the pale pink color with the white trim. I think this piece is a basic T that I could match with almost anything.

Graphic T shirts have always been my go-to. They’re an easy way to elevate an outfit without very much effort. During the summer, when it’s way too hot to be layering multiple pieces if clothing, every shirt counts. I love the color of this shirt and the lettering. The material is very lightweight, so it will be perfect for this season. The only thing I don’t like too much about the material is that it wrinkles VERY easily, but that’s a small price to pay.

If you have an Instagram you know how trendy this shirt is. The embroidered rose is just in right now. The thing that really makes this shirt stand out is the “Live a life in Full Bloom” quote above the flower which I absolutely am obsessed with. This shirt is actually mesh, with a built in tank crop top underneath.

See how you can kind of see my hand beneath the fabric? Since its mesh, this shirt is an obvious must-have for summer. That 3 trends in one. Embroidery, mesh, and a crop top. Perfect. And it’s gorgeous on the body. Throw on a pair of Jean shorts and boom! Got yourself an outfit.

These next shorts are my holy grail shorts. Okay let’s back up. One time is the recent past I went to H&M and picked up some shorts exactly like these but in grey. Those shorts are. my. life. I love those shorts. So when I went back I decided I had to get another pair in a new color and picked this dark blue.

These shorts are just comfy and cute. Soft to the touch. Very durable shorts. I don’t know; there’s not much to say except that you NEED a pair of these. As soon as I got home, I put these on. That’s love.

Thank you all so much for reading. Be sure to pick up those shorts on your way out of my website. You won’t regret it!! Be prepared for more hauls, beauty and clothing, making random appearances for the next few weeks. Next I’m gonna hit up a thrift store near by. I haven’t done a thrifting haul in a lonnngggg time.

Peace,

Emma Katy

#GIRLBOSS Book and Series Review

Are you in the mood for an inspirational story? I know I always am. Especially when it comes to girls making their dreams come true.

Lately, I’ve really been getting into reading. I always have been into reading, but as high school came to a close, I could never find the time for it. I was always busy worrying about something else.

But now, school this semester has ended and I decided that it’s time to start going back into my hobbies, such as writing, painting, and reading. I recently picked up a few books based on some fashion icons and I wanted to review one for you in case you had an interest in checking these out.

The book “#GIRLBOSS” is one of the most inspiring books I’ve ever read. I love the story of Sophia Amoruso and gritty rise she had to success. She has a “go get em” attitide and a powerful spunk about her. Her writing is honest, filled with plain raw facts, a few curse words, and overall a sense of overwhelming inspiration. I relate to Amoruso because I share a common dream as she had when starting her online retail shop Nasty Gal.

The book isn’t in chronicle order of the way things happened for Amoruso. Rather, it is a guideline for new #GIRLBOSSes to follow, with little hints of her own life and personal experiences. She talks about dreams, how to achieve them, and the reality that this life is at our fingertips. This book is truly an amazing read, especially if you ever come around to doubting yourself. In includes adorable fashion sketches with quotes to live by, and it also features some stories of other #GIRLBOESSes who followed their dream. I kind of feel like this book was written for me. I relate so much to the story, to the writing, to the attitude. The most exciting thing about that is I hope it means I’m a #GIRLBOSS too.

I think I will read this book many times in my future to remind myself that my dreams are possible, and the road will be rocky. The best place to start is from the bottom, right??? I hope so.

One day (when I had been dreaming of buying the book but hadn’t made the trip to Books A Million! yet) I went to Netflix and searched it. I have no idea if they just released it and I got super lucky that day, or if it had been there for months. Either way, I was sooooo excited when I found it, and started watching the series before ever getting the book.

Season 1 is available right now, and I have no idea if there will be more season but idea really really really hope so. Whereas the book is inspiring, the show is hilarious. I love the characters, the dialogue, and most absolutely—the style. The looks are to die for cute, and the acting is, well, Netflix y’all already know.

I love the show. The jokes are vulgar, not made for gentle ears, and there are so many twists and turns. I would kill to have a best friendship like Sophia and Annie. So cute. So strong.

If you have the opportunity to check out the show, press play and prepare to laugh. Reading the book and watching the show was a fun experience. I’m definitely glad I picked this book up. If you have big dreams, especially in the fashion business, I consider this a MUST READ.

Thank you so much for reading. Let me know if you want me to write more book reviews as I see a few coming this summer. Have a good one.

Peace,

Emma Katy
