Fall Haul (Pt. 2)

Everyone, I have a confession to make. I am a shopaholic.

I know. Who would’ve guessed? Well, probably my boyfriend.

Last Monday I showed you some new pieces I bought over the weekend. Wednesday I showed you some looks from a new eyeshadow palette I got. And Friday I was sick… but here we are Monday and as promised, I have Part 2 of my Fall Haul ready to go for y’all. Brace yourself. This is one of my best shoots yet.

This haul was created to highlight the new items I bought from Forever 21. Unfortunately, this post is not sponsored.

Starry Day:

Yellow, we meet again. And I see you brought your old pals mom jeans and ankle booties. How clever of you.

This color yellow is a more vibrant hue than I would normally shoot for. But as soon as I laid eyes on it, I fell for the stars. It was unique. It was dramatic. And it’s super soft.

The purple boots balance this look perfectly. This is an ideal example of how contrasting colors can really bring an outfit together. The top and the jeans are both from Forever 21. I’m back on my high waisted craze.

Queen B:

Queen of damn near everything and it’s about time y’all recognize. You all saw this killer crop top in my last Haul post because I just got it. I saw the fishnets online and immediately thought of this top and thus the outfit was born.

Fishnets were really trending starting in the spring, and over the summer. However, I’m FINALLY jumping on the band wagon, just as everyone else is hopping off. I do not mind that at all. The fishnets look so good under these jeans, the crop top lets them peep through on my midsection, and your girl slays. As usual.

This look totally gives me 90’s grunge mixed with modern high end style vibes. It’s the fishnets combined with the GUCCI rip off and the heels that do the trick. I’m in awe. This was definitely one of my favorite outfits.

As the weather slowly changes from scorching hot to mildly chilling, a look like this is perfect to transfer from day to night. The crop top is not too much, the jeans are loose fitting, and the entire fit is comfy. Ahhhhhhh!!! I need more cropped hoodies!

Vintage Babe:

Vintage has never been a style I go for. It just wasn’t anything I was into. I loved grunge and girly things in high school, but slowly I find myself bouncing between vintage and streetwear looks, or mix matching the two. For the look above, I kept the fishnets on, changed into my HUF shirt that I also got last weekend, and changed my jeans….

LOOK AT THESE JEANS!!! You can see from my face how comfy they are. They’re two toned, the left leg being the medium wash and the right leg being the light wash. I admire these jeans.

The reason this look reads as vintage is because I get the vision of a mom taking two completely different colored jeans, having to sew them together and hand them down for their kid. I love it. A piece like this would usually be completely out of my comfort zone, but I’m into it.

If pants aren’t your thing, F21 has a skirt and I believe a jacket version just like these. I hope these become a major trend. Go get your piece for they’re all gone.

Moto Baddie:

I am warning y’all right now, do not sleep on me this season.

Red and yellow are calling my name, but burnt orange will always be my fave. The jacket, the jeans, the boots, I got it all honey. You need it too.

The jacket is the Red Moto jacket from Forever 21. Every girl deserves a nice faux leather jacket, and while it used to be that black was the staple, I am living for this red one. Dare to stand out my ladies.

I used my hand painted boots to bring this look together. If you love these booties as much as me, fear not, they will soon be up for sale on my Depop. I got you covered, don’t worry.

Thank you for reading. I hope you loved this post as much as I loved putting it together for y’all. Shoutout to Cassidy for taking these super awesome photos for me.

If you’re enjoying these hauls/ mini lookbooks, let me know. They’re one of my favorite things to do. Let these looks inspire you this season. I’d love to see any recreations you come up with.

Until next time,

Emma Katy

Day Trip To Dallas

Last Friday I posted a more personal blog post, letting y’all in on some big things happening in my life right now. One of those big things was my wonderful boyfriend and I having our 2 year anniversary. We decided to go to Dallas looking super cute and take a little adventure. The first thing we agreed on doing was going to the Aquarium. It had been awhile since the last time we both went. It was amazing!!

We went to the Dallas World Aquarium. It was huge. The exhibit is 3 stories high, and they have more than just beautiful fishies. They had sharks, flamingos, bats, it was insane.

The octopus was my favorite. I got so excited to see him, my flash accidently went on. Oops. But I think he’s okay. Check out how cool he is!!

We spent about 2 and half hours to 3 hours at the aquarium. Even stopped by the gift shop and got myself a key chain and pressed a penny as a token of this beautiful experience. After walking around so much we got hungry, and had already decided we wanted seafood. I know. Ironic huh? Just got out of admiring sea life to go eat some. But it was so good. We went to Hooters and devoured two Lbs of Snow Crab legs. It was awesome. After word we just wandered around a little, and enjoyed the sites.

Now don’t think I forgot today is Monday. I still have a look to show y’all. It’s this beautiful slip midi dress from 2020Ave. I’m telling you, this dress is to die for. I was comfy all day, and felt so beautiful (especially since my boyfriend kept telling me so). I brought another outfit, just in case it got too hot, but this dress was not too heavy at all. I wore this white tank crop top underneath just because the dress is so loose, and I wanted to make sure I prevented any wardrobe mishaps.

For shoes I wore these zip up sandles. I don’t remember where I got these, but I’m pretty sure it was an outlet store. They are a nude color with little beading details. They are heavy, but after you break them in a little they’re perfect.

My poor boyfriend though got a little hot after awhile because he was wearing this super cute button up, some black skinny jeans, and converse high tops. Needless to say though, he looked amazing.

After wandering around I wanted to go to Method Coffee shop. I’ve seen a lot about them on Instagram and thought it would be fun to check it out. Y’all know how I love going to new coffee shops. It was adorable inside, and the baristas were very nice. I’m glad I got to go.

Here’s me with my lavender vanilla iced latte. Very good in opinion, horrible in my boyfriend’s opinion.

On the way home we took turns picking songs to listen to. They were a lot of songs from our childhood we got to sing along to and laugh about. It brought back old memories so we could tell stories to each other. There was country music, old rock music, rap music, you name it, we probably listened to it. Very romantic stuff.

The one thing I will say about Dallas is that it is so intimidating. We had so much trouble with parking and things, it was hard not to get frustrated. However, we had such a great day and I’m so glad to be with Dakota!! Who knows what we’ll do next year.

As always, thank you so much for reading. Your support is everything! Happy Monday.

A Visit to NOLA

An Overview of the City

New Orleans, Louisiana. My family and I are orginally from this area, but as life would have it, we’be moved away to a small town in Texas.

However, we visit all the time. Now that my brother and I are older, sometimes my parents will disappear home with only a phone call to let us know. But they decided to bring us along recently, to throw a very special birthday party for my dad.

That’s him washing my mom’s windshield. He has no idea I took this.

And that’s the back of parents’ head, laughing in the front seat to some inappropriate jokes. You can’t tell from this picture, but they’re deeply in love.

Here’s my cute grandparents, Maw Maw and Paw Paw. They raised my weirdo funny guy of a dad, and got a little emotional at how old their youngest son has become. Before we headed off back home, my grandma said to my dad “you got it good, man”. Cutest thing ever.

While we were down in New Orleans, I wanted to document everything we got to do and share with y’all, to give you a little taste of the French city.

Great Food from La Madeleine’s

First thing we did on Saturday was eat. We went to a place my mom loves called La Madeleine. My mom and I got the chicken ceasar salad, our favorite dish ever, and I got a little bowl of French Onion soup. (You can ask my boyfriend how much I LOVE French Onion soup. He’ll tell you).

Here’s me and my mom. And yes, that’s the shirt from my 2020ave haul. We spent the day with my cousin Megan and my Nanny, who’s real name is Denise. They helped us put together my dad’s party.

We also went shopping and grabbed some coffee.

I got this super cute T-shirt. You can check it out on my Twitter. There’s a link on my homepage.

The next day my cousin Megan and I spent the whole day together. Even though she was burdened by homework, she made some time for me.

We went and ate a place called Parrot Pete’s. Here’s what I got:

That my friends is ANOTHER ceasar salad, but this time it has crawfish on it. Only in the south. It was absolutely delicious.

One of the best things about New Orleans is there is art everywhere. Little statues cover the ground, and people from New Orleans are proud of their origins.

Statue outside our restaurant

After Brunch, and although there is art everywhere, I couldn’t get enough. So I made my family go to some art museums in the downtown area.

In this museum, the Ogden Museum of Southern Art, featured southern artists and Southern themed subject matter.

The museum was 4 stories high, with all kinds of different styles. My whole family really enjoyed the whole experience. I hope to visit more museums soon.

Here is me, my brother Christian, and in the top picture, my beautiful cousin Megan.

They give you a little entrance sticker, and someone started the tradition to put your sticker on the street lamp. I marked my brother’s sticker with lipstick.

It was fun to visit my family and celebrate my dad’s birthday. I loved visiting the artistic aspects of the city I’m from. I hope to travel more soon and share my experiences with you all.
