The BEST Autumn Eyeshadow Palettes

My favorite makeup product of all time is eyeshadow. I love creating eye looks on the daily. It’s just the route of empowerment I love to take. It’s the one thing I go into Sephora for, but leave with others too (if I can afford it). And even though I love eyeshadow year round, there is something about the fall time that really gets my creativity going. In today’s post, I’m showing you 3 looks I created combining the Kat Von D Shade and Light palette I was obsessed with last year, and the ABH Subculture palette I got the other day. And I couldn’t leave out a dark lip. To see how you can create these yourself, keep reading until the end!!

For the first eye look, I decided to go with a traditional autumn vibe and do an orange with deep burgundy. I love the way the ABH colors stand out. The deep red comes from the Shade and Light palette

The orange is just so vibrant, it compliments my eyes really well. And the lipstick I’m wearing is just a brown from a Sephora collection.

Princess Peach:

This look I got really adventurous. I used an electric pink, softened by a light brown, and my favorite part: underlined with a bold yellow. I’ve never really thought about putting a completely different color on my lower lids. I really liked this.

At first I was having so much trouble trying to get a really good look, but these colors are so nice together. I will definitely keep going with this trend. It just goes to show you that even though you’re struggling during application, you could still come out with a great look.

I find it extremely hard to wear dark eye looks. I worry so much about having “racoon eyes”. But it’s time to get over that. And I’m loving this progression I feel happening.

The dark green blended into this brown. I was really surprised with how this shade worked into my skin. I didn’t even need to put on a transition shade. I used a light golden shade to lighten my lid, and the only shade I used for this look from the Shade and Light palette was a white for my inner eye highlight.

A look like this is completely out of my comfort zone, but this look is by far my favorite. It’s so dark but can go with so many outfits and lipstick. Greens and golds are such an iconic duo.

Kat Von D Shade and Light Palette:

Colors used:

Look 1: Succubus

Look 2: Solas

Look 3: Liberatus

Colors used:

Look 1: New Wave

Look 2: Roxy and Edge

Look 3: Destiny and Adorn

These 3 looks are by far my favorite I’ve ever created. I really hope they inspire some of your beauty looks in season. The ABH Subculture palette was such a great buy, and I recommend it for anyone who needs diverse fall shades.

Thank you for reading. Until next time,

Updated Hair Care Routine

If you’ve been here for awhile, you are aware of my hair care routine. It went from the basics (drug store shampoo and conditioner) to like, I actually have to have deep thought when I’m shopping for these things. It matters what you put into and onto your body folks.

So this is gonna be a more short and simple post, but one I thought you might find interesting. If you like to learn more about my skin care techniques also, definitely check out my skin care routine– a must read for this summer.

Firstly, I’ll start with my shampoo.

I switch between this shampoo and dandruff shampoo. My scalp is kind of moody when it comes to being dry or oily, so I try to adjust the products accordingly. I like to make sure my shampoos have proteins or vitamins that are good for my hair. Keratin is really good for damaged hair, which bleached hair kind of is. I’m growing my blonde out right now, so my hair will be easier to control during school. I also want my hair to grow back healthy, instead of constantly treating it and burning my roots. But while I still have bleached hair, I want it to get as much moisture and protein it needs to be beautiful. This stuff works really well for me. It’s already almost gone, and I’ll be sad to see it go. It’s on the expensive side, and by expensive I mean, like, maybe $8 or $12 or something. Although it was a great buy, I will still be on the lookout for things that I feel could be better for my hair.

Secondly, my conditioner.

My conditioner is what I really consider to be the most important part of my hair care regimen. It is a MAJOR factor in the smoothness of my hair, and overall softness.

I’ve been using this brand for awhile, and I believe in my last Hair Care Routine I was using a pink bottle. That one worked well for a little bit, but this new one that I use smells even more amazing and works great for my hair type. It has keratin proteins in it, (are you seeing a trend here?) which is exactly what the other conditioner had, but this one also contains a variety of oils. I believe these oils are really what help smooth my hair to make it soft to the touch. I love these little guys so much that I take them with me everywhere. If I’m ever going to need a shower, this conditioner is coming with me.

The question may be on your mind, “why don’t you use the same brand for shampoo and conditioner?” The truth: I honestly hadn’t really thought about doing that. That seems logical. Maybe I’ll try that soon lol.

And last, my serum.

This serum is a sample size that I got in an Ipsy package. When I got this, I wasn’t really into putting products in my hair, but I was hopeful this stuff would work, and was willing to try it out. I am so glad I did. This product is like a miracle detangle potion. Sometimes when my hair was wet, or dry, and I didn’t brush it for let’s say….3 hours, it became a giant mess. Well, this was going on for a while, and it seemed like no matter how much conditioner I used, my hair would always frizz up. I was not down for that. And brushing through my mess of hair would take forever, and was honestly kind of painful. That’s when I remembered this little buddy. It helped me comb through my troubled locks like a dream. I was honestly amazed how well this works. And the oils don’t make your hair look greasy. The pump distrubutes a control amount, so you don’t end up with overly oiled hair. I use this once and my hair is considerably tamable for about 2 weeks or so. I love it. Go buy it. For real.

This is what I’ve been using for my damaged hair. As my natural hair color comes back, this may change up a bit. I’ll let you know.

Thanks for reading. Y’all know I always got the hookup for what keeps me looking good. I hope this helps if you’ve been having problem with frizzy, tangled, or dehydrated hair this season.

Updated Skin Care Routine

“Give me clear skin or give me death!”

-Every teenager ever

Skin care was never much of a bother for me before this summer. Recently, its become something I care about a lot. It’s probably due to my new minimalistic makeup routine. Since I’m wearing less foundation, that means less coverage. So it’s been more important for me lately to make sure my skin is properly taken care of.  I’m so glad I ventured down this skin care path because now I feel more confident going out with less makeup, which is great for a season as hot as this one. And if you’re in school or you work early, a skin care routine at night is a good way to protect yourself if you don’t feel like putting on a full face of makeup the next morning.

I don’t use very much, but what I use has so far been very effective. I find that rotating between some of these products is very helpful in keeping my skin clear longer.

The first thing I wanted to share is this lotion. Really any lotion will do the trick, but this is the one I’ve been using. I’m on a vanilla craze right now and this smells so good. I put this on my arms and legs right after I get out of the shower. It softens my skin while leaving behind a nice scent. I used to just let lotions sit forever and ever, but now that I’ve decluttered, I’ve made a pact with myself to use up every single lotion one by one. I’ll be sad the day this is all gone, because then I’ll have to smell different.

This next product I’ve been using pretty regularly. I think Neutrogena has some of the best quality acne treatments out there. They can be on the pricey side but this little tube has lasted me for months because you only need a small amount each time you use it. I’m pretty sure this is supposed to go on pimples that already exist, like a post-treatment but I use this to prevent pimples from coming. It works really well when I use it daily. I apply this on my face right after I take a shower and I can feel it tighten my face, if that makes any sense. Just go buy this stuff if you have medium oily skin. It’s great. It’ll dry you out real quick.

These two tiny things are two of the prettiest things I own. I got these as a birthday present from Sephora, so if you have a birthday coming up, get a Sephora membership card and get yourself some of this. I believe it’s French which makes me feel luxurious. But it also sucks because I can’t read any of it. There’s little pieces in English, but overall I was really intimidated when I got this. I’ve never used a “serum” before so I was sceptical. Basically you drip drop the serum onto your trouble areas of your face, then rub it in. (P.S. this stuff smells AMAZING). Next you apply the creme that’s in the pink bottle. This is supposed to help reduce dark spots. After using it, the first few days I noticed a more even skin tone, less blotchiness, and my acne dark spots -the kind you get from picking at pimples- had pretty much vanished. I was so surprised. Thanks a lot Sephora. Now I have to buy the big size. Clear skin or fooooddd??? The question troubles me time and time again. I apply this after I apply the acne treatment, and always after a shower. And I always apply it in the morning. My skin care routine basically happens after my showers.

I’ve taken so many pictures of this stuff for you guys. First in an Ipsy unboxing, then my makeup routine, and now here. I love love love love this stuff. I use this as the base of my makeup, and even though you’ve already heard me rave about this stuff, here we are again. When I don’t use this Italian face toner, I’m self conscious all day. I’ve been using this for awhile now. I noticed my redness has gone down and my pores seem smaller. It just creates a more even skin tone. I do notice that if I don’t use this regularly, my blotchiness comes roaring back into existence and no honey, that’s not pretty.

I’ve just gotten into investing some time into my skin care. I’ve been DYING to try out some Glossier products.

My friend Maddie talks about them all the time. There products are great for people with oily skin. Look how gorgeous and glowing she is.

She talks about their products on her instagram: @weirrdhoney. I’m thinking about investing in some Glossier products after I finish my French stuff, as to keep with my minimalistic tactic.

If you’re interested in using these products, be sure to check out her rep profile. She has a video explaining her favorite products and how they can be helpful to people with a similar skin type. I’m really interested in their serums, now that I’ve gotten obsessed.

Having a skin care routine to follow helps me feel like I’m taking better care of myself. It makes me feel more confident on those days when I really just don’t feel like wearing makeup. I thought this would help those of you struggling with acne, heavy foundation, new college schedules, and all the buzzy bees out there that need something simple.

Thank you for reading. You guys are the best. Make sure to come back next Wednesday for a hair care routine!!!
