Fall Haul (Pt. 2)

Everyone, I have a confession to make. I am a shopaholic.

I know. Who would’ve guessed? Well, probably my boyfriend.

Last Monday I showed you some new pieces I bought over the weekend. Wednesday I showed you some looks from a new eyeshadow palette I got. And Friday I was sick… but here we are Monday and as promised, I have Part 2 of my Fall Haul ready to go for y’all. Brace yourself. This is one of my best shoots yet.

This haul was created to highlight the new items I bought from Forever 21. Unfortunately, this post is not sponsored.

Starry Day:

Yellow, we meet again. And I see you brought your old pals mom jeans and ankle booties. How clever of you.

This color yellow is a more vibrant hue than I would normally shoot for. But as soon as I laid eyes on it, I fell for the stars. It was unique. It was dramatic. And it’s super soft.

The purple boots balance this look perfectly. This is an ideal example of how contrasting colors can really bring an outfit together. The top and the jeans are both from Forever 21. I’m back on my high waisted craze.

Queen B:

Queen of damn near everything and it’s about time y’all recognize. You all saw this killer crop top in my last Haul post because I just got it. I saw the fishnets online and immediately thought of this top and thus the outfit was born.

Fishnets were really trending starting in the spring, and over the summer. However, I’m FINALLY jumping on the band wagon, just as everyone else is hopping off. I do not mind that at all. The fishnets look so good under these jeans, the crop top lets them peep through on my midsection, and your girl slays. As usual.

This look totally gives me 90’s grunge mixed with modern high end style vibes. It’s the fishnets combined with the GUCCI rip off and the heels that do the trick. I’m in awe. This was definitely one of my favorite outfits.

As the weather slowly changes from scorching hot to mildly chilling, a look like this is perfect to transfer from day to night. The crop top is not too much, the jeans are loose fitting, and the entire fit is comfy. Ahhhhhhh!!! I need more cropped hoodies!

Vintage Babe:

Vintage has never been a style I go for. It just wasn’t anything I was into. I loved grunge and girly things in high school, but slowly I find myself bouncing between vintage and streetwear looks, or mix matching the two. For the look above, I kept the fishnets on, changed into my HUF shirt that I also got last weekend, and changed my jeans….

LOOK AT THESE JEANS!!! You can see from my face how comfy they are. They’re two toned, the left leg being the medium wash and the right leg being the light wash. I admire these jeans.

The reason this look reads as vintage is because I get the vision of a mom taking two completely different colored jeans, having to sew them together and hand them down for their kid. I love it. A piece like this would usually be completely out of my comfort zone, but I’m into it.

If pants aren’t your thing, F21 has a skirt and I believe a jacket version just like these. I hope these become a major trend. Go get your piece for they’re all gone.

Moto Baddie:

I am warning y’all right now, do not sleep on me this season.

Red and yellow are calling my name, but burnt orange will always be my fave. The jacket, the jeans, the boots, I got it all honey. You need it too.

The jacket is the Red Moto jacket from Forever 21. Every girl deserves a nice faux leather jacket, and while it used to be that black was the staple, I am living for this red one. Dare to stand out my ladies.

I used my hand painted boots to bring this look together. If you love these booties as much as me, fear not, they will soon be up for sale on my Depop. I got you covered, don’t worry.

Thank you for reading. I hope you loved this post as much as I loved putting it together for y’all. Shoutout to Cassidy for taking these super awesome photos for me.

If you’re enjoying these hauls/ mini lookbooks, let me know. They’re one of my favorite things to do. Let these looks inspire you this season. I’d love to see any recreations you come up with.

Until next time,

Emma Katy

Style Icons I Adore

Fashion and style can be very complex things. It’s kind of interesting how people are drawn to completely different things to put on their bodies. Lately, I’ve really been trying to dive into the world of fashion, and I realized fashion is like a sculpture. You can shape and mold your own fashion world, and create worm holes to allow others in. There’s not only one fashion world, there’s millions of individual ones. So this blog post is really my appreciation of some ladies and their fashion world, and how the grass doesn’t always have to be green on the other side. It can be any color you want.

1) Kallie Kaiser

Kallie Kaiser is a YouTuber that I follow. She is effortlessly pretty and super cool. She posts a lot of clothing hauls and look books (which are my favorite things to watch) but she also does GRWM’s and the occasional tutorial. I’ve been following her for awhile now and she never fails to surprise me. I love her sense of style, because it is full of variety, but totally matches her personality. One thing about her is she is obsessed with stars.

She is also the master of natural makeup and lace/mesh tops. Everything she wears is daring, edgy, with a distinguishable touch of femininity.  Kallie is always up-to-date on the latest trends. Her hauls wouldn’t be complete without a new pair of Jeffrey Cambell’s. I always go to her channel when I’m looking for new stores to check out or trends I want to try out. Check her out on Youtube. You won’t regret it.

2) Rena Lovelis

If you read my Spring Playlist you would see the band Hey Violet on there. Rena Lovelis is the lead singer of that band. I fell in love with the band and their style while watching their music video for Guys My Age. She is like my alter ego. If my personality was like anyone else’s, I would want to have her cute smile and powerful spunk. I mean, the bomber jacket in the picture above would’ve been cool with a collar, but without one it looks insanely stylish!! If I saw that in the store and picked it up, I would be so confused I wouldn’t even try it on. She’s the kind of person that would, which I commend her for.

This girl is like the embodiment of the word “cool.” Her voice, her dance moves, her style, and most importantly her hair! You’ve got to check out their music, especially if you’re a moody teen girl like me. You’ll be dancing all the way to H&M.

3) GiGi Hadid

I know what you’re thinking: “obviously”. GiGi is beautiful, and ever since I saw her I knew her style was inspirational to me. I mean, Look at those pants! I never wanted a pair of pants like that until this picture. Her smile is adorable, and I think she is talented. I think she could make a garbage bag and crocs a trend. She is the queen of crop tops in my opinion.

I mean, without those glasses in the picture above, this outfit would be pretty basic. I love how everything is tied in in all of her outfits and it reminds me that simple silhouettes can be chic. That’s what I appreciate most. How she somehow dresses up basics so easily, you don’t even notice.

4) Zendaya

Zendaya has been a goddess since day one. No matter what she puts on, it always glows. Everything about Zendaya says sweet and smart, which I love. She gives off such a confident but welcoming vibe, I wish I could be her friend. I remember always being amazed at her award appearances outfits and how her evolving style never failed to posses elegance. There’s just something about her.

She’s bold. Trendy. Fearless. I love it. One of the things that also impressed me was her hair. She has pulled off so many different hairstyles, don’t shoot me if I say she reminds me of the flawlessness of Rihanna. I expect many more looks from her. She’s on my radar.

Thank you all so much for reading. Fashion can be a VERY competitive thing, so I wanted to take some time out to throw a little shine on other goddesses. While getting dressed up is so fun, it can also be imtimidating. Don’t be jealous of your local fashionistas. I used to be, but then I realized that we were just different. There’s nothing wrong with that.

Confidence is the best accessory. -unknown

Thank you for reading!! Spread some love to yourself and others. Come back soon.

(I do not own any pictures above).

Peace,

Emma Katy

        Sunglass Season

The sun is coming out to say hello, which means it’s time for a lot of things I’ve been discussing lately, like SPF foundations, new trends, and now sunglasses.

I wear presciption glasses everywhere I go. This usually prevents me from getting to wear sunglasses. However, I’ve been thinking about switching to contacts (for various reasons) and then I would be able to enjoy styling sunglasses and looking trendy! But just because I usually can’t wear them does not mean that stopped my impulse to buy them. So since the time is here, I thought I’d show you some ways I’d like to style sunglasses if I ever get the pleasure of wearing them on the regular.

        Simple & Sweet

I bought these sunglasses awhile ago, so I have no idea what any are called. I do remember getting these from Old Navy last year and could not get over them. Maybe they’re selling something similar to this style this year. These sunglasses have clear acrylic framing and purple lenses. I paired these with my peachy lip velvet you would’ve seen in my Peach blog post. I kept my hair natural because I woke up with these wild waves.

        Minimalist at Best

By now you should realize I adore big eyed glassed. I like to look like a bug beetle roaming around. I have no idea where these glasses came from but I own them. They’re white framed with tinted lenses. They are a cool like braided gold design on the sides. I paired these glasses with this e.l.f. lip color pencil in the shade tea rose.

This color is like a really pretty pastel purple. It comes off as more of a bare nude shade but it’s different than that. You kind of have to go in with a few layers to get the pigment to show up. I think this look is really easy to  throw together.

        90’s Baby Girl

I really like this one. It’s easily my favorite. The round black frames with purplish black lenses. They also have these cute gold details that I love. I decided to go with a dark lip color because I think it really brings the whole thing together. I tied my hair in a bun and pulled a few flyaways out to frame my face. I was definitely feeling myself in this look.

I hope you found these little examples helpful. I’m definitely trying to wear these this summer. Thanks for reading!!
