Christmas Wishlist (All Inclusive)

Christmas Wishlist (All Inclusive)

Last week I did a post on what I wanted for Christmas this year as far as beauty products goes. I do want a lot of makeup (always), and I’ve been asked a few times what other stuff I want. And I honestly answered that I want boring things. I don’t like paying for boring stuff, so for Christmas it would be awesome to get like, a gas card. Or some other bill that I don’t appreciate paying for. That’s what I would like because it would help me for the rest of the year. But I’ve been told by certain family members that I’m cheap. And that I should want stuff that’s more fun. So I thought I’d make ANOTHER list of FUN stuff I want. So here goes:

Clothes:

Forever 21:

I love this. I’ve really been loving the sweatshirt and jeans look this season. Pullovers are easy to style. I’ve always loved graphic tops, so having both in one piece is ideal. The orange and the red is really warm toned for this season, but I think I’d use this for the awkward transition between winter to spring.

No matter how hard I try, I just can’t get over roses. I know the whole rose thing is kind of overkill because of the embroidery trend but I love them so much.

This cross body bag is so adorable. It’s not exactly functional, but it’s really chic. It is like a suitcase, which would make me feel like the business woman I aspire to be. WANT. WANT. WANT.

Slide View: 4: Urban Renewal Recycled Printed Cropped Sweater

Does this sweater not look right out of the 80’s? I need it. It looks itchy, but that’s a situation I’m willing to handle if it means that I can look like a character out of Stranger Things.

Slide View: 1: Tommy Hilfiger X UO Jersey Legging

I love Tommy Hilfiger clothing. I don’t own any. Yet. But maybe that will change.

Slide View: 1: Tommy Hilfiger Reversible Beanie

And beanies. I usually do not ever wear beanies. But that’s quickly changing. And this beanie needs to be on my head from now until summer.

Slide View: 1: Female Form Planter

The female body is a work of art. I need all three of these living in perfect harmony on the top shelf of my room with little succulent plants nesting nicely within.

Slide View: 1: Quibe Close Art Print

Line art is a current fav of mine. What can I say?

I would like this as a phone case. I have a galaxy s5. The artist is named Cassandra and she has really cute drawings. This one is especially my favorite, so I’d like to have it on my phone, with me everywhere.

And yeah, that’s basically it. I don’t know if I’m easy to shop for but I always think I am. Click on any of these pictures above to be redirected to their store site. I don’t own any of these pictures.

If you weren’t sure what you’ve been wanting for Christmas I hope this post gave you some ideas. I hope to be posting some this week, but I’m taking it easy this month. I’ll write more on that soon.

Have a great weekend. Keep the Holiday Cheer going. Until next time,

Updated Skin Care Routine

“Give me clear skin or give me death!”

-Every teenager ever

Skin care was never much of a bother for me before this summer. Recently, its become something I care about a lot. It’s probably due to my new minimalistic makeup routine. Since I’m wearing less foundation, that means less coverage. So it’s been more important for me lately to make sure my skin is properly taken care of.  I’m so glad I ventured down this skin care path because now I feel more confident going out with less makeup, which is great for a season as hot as this one. And if you’re in school or you work early, a skin care routine at night is a good way to protect yourself if you don’t feel like putting on a full face of makeup the next morning.

I don’t use very much, but what I use has so far been very effective. I find that rotating between some of these products is very helpful in keeping my skin clear longer.

The first thing I wanted to share is this lotion. Really any lotion will do the trick, but this is the one I’ve been using. I’m on a vanilla craze right now and this smells so good. I put this on my arms and legs right after I get out of the shower. It softens my skin while leaving behind a nice scent. I used to just let lotions sit forever and ever, but now that I’ve decluttered, I’ve made a pact with myself to use up every single lotion one by one. I’ll be sad the day this is all gone, because then I’ll have to smell different.

This next product I’ve been using pretty regularly. I think Neutrogena has some of the best quality acne treatments out there. They can be on the pricey side but this little tube has lasted me for months because you only need a small amount each time you use it. I’m pretty sure this is supposed to go on pimples that already exist, like a post-treatment but I use this to prevent pimples from coming. It works really well when I use it daily. I apply this on my face right after I take a shower and I can feel it tighten my face, if that makes any sense. Just go buy this stuff if you have medium oily skin. It’s great. It’ll dry you out real quick.

These two tiny things are two of the prettiest things I own. I got these as a birthday present from Sephora, so if you have a birthday coming up, get a Sephora membership card and get yourself some of this. I believe it’s French which makes me feel luxurious. But it also sucks because I can’t read any of it. There’s little pieces in English, but overall I was really intimidated when I got this. I’ve never used a “serum” before so I was sceptical. Basically you drip drop the serum onto your trouble areas of your face, then rub it in. (P.S. this stuff smells AMAZING). Next you apply the creme that’s in the pink bottle. This is supposed to help reduce dark spots. After using it, the first few days I noticed a more even skin tone, less blotchiness, and my acne dark spots -the kind you get from picking at pimples- had pretty much vanished. I was so surprised. Thanks a lot Sephora. Now I have to buy the big size. Clear skin or fooooddd??? The question troubles me time and time again. I apply this after I apply the acne treatment, and always after a shower. And I always apply it in the morning. My skin care routine basically happens after my showers.

I’ve taken so many pictures of this stuff for you guys. First in an Ipsy unboxing, then my makeup routine, and now here. I love love love love this stuff. I use this as the base of my makeup, and even though you’ve already heard me rave about this stuff, here we are again. When I don’t use this Italian face toner, I’m self conscious all day. I’ve been using this for awhile now. I noticed my redness has gone down and my pores seem smaller. It just creates a more even skin tone. I do notice that if I don’t use this regularly, my blotchiness comes roaring back into existence and no honey, that’s not pretty.

I’ve just gotten into investing some time into my skin care. I’ve been DYING to try out some Glossier products.

My friend Maddie talks about them all the time. There products are great for people with oily skin. Look how gorgeous and glowing she is.

She talks about their products on her instagram: @weirrdhoney. I’m thinking about investing in some Glossier products after I finish my French stuff, as to keep with my minimalistic tactic.

If you’re interested in using these products, be sure to check out her rep profile. She has a video explaining her favorite products and how they can be helpful to people with a similar skin type. I’m really interested in their serums, now that I’ve gotten obsessed.

Having a skin care routine to follow helps me feel like I’m taking better care of myself. It makes me feel more confident on those days when I really just don’t feel like wearing makeup. I thought this would help those of you struggling with acne, heavy foundation, new college schedules, and all the buzzy bees out there that need something simple.

Thank you for reading. You guys are the best. Make sure to come back next Wednesday for a hair care routine!!!

Peace,

Emma Katy

Summer Essentials

Moving right on along into summer, it’s scorching weather, and a load of new free time, a lot changes with the new season. I’ve already talked to y’all about a few key things you’re going to new for the adventurous months ahead. Today we’re going to revisit a few of those items as I go through a list of things that are essential to keep near by this summer.

1) First thing is a handy bag

My favorite makeup bag I’ve gotten recently is this ice cream one. If you read my past Ipsy Unboxing, you’ve seen this cute little guy right here. A size bag like this is perfect because it can carry many things, but can fit nicely into a tote bag or backpack.

2) All Purpose Salve

I talked about this miracle green goo once, but I thought I’d revisit it again since I believe it is such a staple for this summer. This magical stuff is a bug bite soothing, cut and scrape healing, sun screen cooling miracle. Definitely a need if you have children, or really clumsy friends.

3) Travel Size Everything

By everything I mean shampoo, conditioner, and ESPECIALLY deodorant.

With it being summer, there is no telling when the plans will suddenly change. Keeping a few things on you, even a travel tooth brush, is a good idea just in case you find yourself sleeping over a friend’s house, a little too messy and want to take a shower, or if you just want to be triple sure you smell the best.

4) Chapstick/ Lip Balm

It is so important in the summer to stay hydrated. Lip Balm plays a part in that, and also is a quick and easy way to stay looking fresh, even without makeup. I have been recently using the one above that I got from an Ipsy package as well. I use it in the morning if I simply want a glossy lip, or I notice my lips dried out over the night.

5) Socks/Undies

Sometimes when we go swimming or to the lake, our clothes get wet or dirty, and we desire new ones There have been a few times last summer where I really wanted to have a fresh pair of socks, or somebody splashed all over my dry clothes. It’s a good idea to keep a back up pair of these, just in case.

6) A Pair of Cheap Flip Flops

Okay so if you hit up your nearest Walmart there will be a giant box of these really cheap and ugly flip flops. They’re about a dollar each and will break after awhile. But hey listen, when it is 90 degrees outside and you just want to be swimming and eating, neon flip flops are perfect for beach/lake water and sand/mud. Let them break. Let those toes be free.

7) Band-aids/ First Aid Kit

It doesn’t happen often, but it sure does happen. My boyfriend had the bottom of his foot cut by a broken bottle in the lake. Depending on your adventures, so much can go wrong. It would be smart to keep a few band-aids or gauze with you to keep everyone moving and bacteria free.

8) Hair Ties and Head Bands

This last one is for girls or guys with long hair. You might think wearing your hair down at the beginning of the day, but as the temperature grows this will prove to be uncomfortable. I like to keep hair ties, put recently I’ve been using head bands to keep my hair out of my face. Keep a few on you at all times. You will thank me later.

So these are a few must haves to keep with you. I suggest on your car, if you’re usually the one driving everyone. I find myself to be the person with all the stuff. So I will probably keep this in my tote bag with my swim suits and change of clothes. I hope this little list helps your summer go more smoothly. Stay safe out there.

Peace,

Emma Katy
