What’s In My Bag (for back to school)

I’m honestly pretty excited to start school this semester. I got some new supplies, which I’m super eager to use. The past school year was a hot mess. It was just constant running around and forgetting things. It seemed that no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn’t get organized. And if it wasn’t for me taking duel credit courses this year, I would be behind. So over the summer I decided to buckle down for real this semester and start taking care of my business.

Having your supplies organized and having a specific system in place can help a lot. In high school, I memorized everything. I have a great visual memory, so reading or rewriting the same phrases over and over again helped me pass all the tests. However, in college, the whole structure is different. A lot of the work is on your own, the note taking is continuous, and since you don’t get to see your instructor every single day of the week, you have to investigate some of the questions on your own.

I did not realize any of that last year, but I have now and it’s time to redeem myself. So anyways, let’s get into what I’m keeping with me everyday to keep me well structured.

(I didn’t include my school bag because I’m pretty sure I will be getting a new one.)

The first thing I want to show y’all is this makeup bad that I’m using as a pencil bag. This little egg guy is so inspirational. Whenever I’m feeling overwhelmed in class, I just look at it, and I’m like “yeah, me too buddy”.

And it’s literally the exact size I needed for my pens and prncils. Makeup bag for the win.

This little rectangular box is kind of like my organization station. I got this pretty thing from Staples, and it comes with post-it notes, an eraser, binder clips, paper clicks and magnets. I really love this, the only problem is that it isn’t secure. The little pieces keep falling out. I’m going to need to do something about that.

I like having the post-its being the same design. And I used them to label my $0.25 notebooks by class. I got 4 of these spiral notebooks, and a little journal one that I’m turning into a bullet journal for school. Here’s a peep inside:

I’m new to bullet journaling, but with everything going on now, with school and my first job, my somewhat second job, this blog, and just everything else that comes with life, saying I’m busy is an understatement. But I think this would be a cool way to keep me really organized. I want to do an entirely separate post about my bullet journal, so I won’t go too much into detail here.

Not pictured is the tiny stapler I bought myself, my hygiene kit that I bring with me that has an extra toothbrush and hand sanitizer in it, because honestly I just never know where I’m gonna end up these days. I’m thinking of getting more tiny bags to keep things in, because I hate when there’s a bottomless mess in my school bag. I’m hoping to develop a system that works well for me, and to keep this blog up and running on its feet.

I’m sorry for the late post. I thought I was going to have enough time yesterday to post, but I was mistaken. I know better now, and will keep adjusting to make sure I bring y’all the best content I can muster up!

Thanks for everyone’s support. Thank you for reading, liking, commenting, sharing, all of it really means so much to me. I’ll let you know how this new system goes, and share whatever tips I gain.

Summer F*ck It List

(I know my post is late but please cut me some slack. Classes are crazy and I worked an 11 hour shift yesterday. I will do better, promise!) God, summer hurry up already. I’m so ready to be out of school, done worrying about classes, and be full of fun times. I’m so excited for summer to start, all I’ve been thinking about lately is how I’m going to spend my time-when I actually get some to myself. I figured it was time to make a list of all these things and share my adventures with you.

  1. Take my boyfriend to Six Flags (I’ve been meaning to take him for the last two years but either didn’t have the money, time, or mode of transportation. That changes this year.)
  2. Day Trip to Austin (I’ve never gone to Austin, TX even though it’s been a dream of mine to visit) I’m considering transferring to UT Austin sometime in the near future, so I would love to explore the city first.
  3. Visit at least 4 hole-in-the-wall coffee shops. You know how I am. Gotta collect those T shirts.
  4. Win a volley ball game against my boyfriend (one of these days I will have my chance)
  5. Go to a concert or music festival
  6. Get bikes to see the city with (Austin, Houston, Oklahoma City)
  7. Take a cruise to wherever (please please please bank account can I?)
  8. Graffiti on something (do sidewalks count? I think yes. And by graffiti I mean like chalk of course…)
  9. Go to that revolving tower thing in Dallas with my boyfriend. (They have those Day & Night passes and we’re both terrified of heights, so obviously we have to go)
  10. Go sing karaoke sometime

I know that these aren’t really Wild N’ Out but I love taking adventures. My boyfriend and I want to travel a lot this summer. Experience the world around us and slowly branch out. I’d also love to share these new things with you guys, and all the fashion, beauty, adulting, art, and photography along the way!!! Hit me up with some of your summer plans. What are some things you and your friends have planned? I’d love you hear all about it.

Let’s recap in the fall and see how much I’ve actually accomplished. Thanks for reading and wish me luck!!

    Good Friday Thoughts

Happy Friday everyone! Good Friday at that. Which means Easter is right around the corner. And since this is my lifestyle post and God influences my life everyday, AND Easter is coming, what better time to give a little glory and praise?

Some people have very differing opinions and practices when it comes to their God, which is totally awesome. I personally just call myself a believer and don’t categorize myself under a specific type of religion. I do lean more towards Christian views though.

Anyways, I know a few people sometimes take inspiration from my spiritual journey, as it was a crazy rough one, and maybe this post will inspire more people all around the world.

Okay for starters, everyone has trials when it comes to their faith. There’s always a time period where your faith will be tested, and in my personal case, this happens a lot. However, there was one time period in my life where my faith was literally shattered. I mean, gone. Out the window. Bye bye.

I was a freshman or sophomore at the time, and growing up in a small town, being an “athiest” is a big deal. I started to share this temporary belief with peers and soon it was like everyone wanted to know and judge me over it. But I didn’t really let that bother me. Some people’s curiosity brought some believers in my life, and without that I wouldn’t be who I am today.

It started to feel like people were bringing me under their wing and turning my faith into their project, which I did not like. I wasn’t a toy to be fixed. Or a book to be edited. I was just a naive girl who wasn’t sure what she believed in. One friend in particular persisted and persisted with me, although I didn’t agree with everything, our talks helped me develop a better understanding of my situation.

I’m not going to go into too much detail but I’ve been saved at least 3 times. I know a lot of people think that once you declare yourself “saved” you’re good to go. For me that just hasn’t been true. I’ve fallen away from my God so many times.

But now, my relationship with God is stronger than ever. I pray everyday. And I don’t just mean in the morning or at night. I mean in the car, while at work, in the shower, everywhere I am I don’t mind talking to God a little bit. My boyfriend and I pray together. God has changed my life. I ask Him everyday to help me be a better person. When I’m talking to a loved one who is struggling, I ask God to speak through me. When I’m going through a troubling time now I completely turn to Him, instead of questioning the situation.

Not everyone needs to be this way. There are so many different religions in this world, and I am in no way telling anyone that my way is better than theirs. I am just expressing my spiritual journey and the way it’s impacted my life.

Thanks for reading! I hope everyone enjoys their Easter weekend. Come back Money for some more fashion and photos!
