Cutest Pumpkins in the Patch

Cutest Pumpkins in the Patch

As we are now stumbling onto the halfway mark of October, I decided its time to drag my adorable boyfriend along to do insanely ridiculous fall stuff. This means pumpkin patches, hiking, carving pumpkins, and maybe even picking apples if we get the opportunity. This past weekend we revisited a little pumpkin patch area, took plenty of pictures, and I wore a pretty cute outfit that I wanted to share with all of you.

As you arrive at Ellis Pottery in Longview, TX, you will be greeted by this giant friendly pumpkin, (just in case you thought you were in the wrong place).

Pumpkins literally lined the entire property. I would NOT want to work in that farm. I love pumpkins,  but there is no way I’m washing all these bad boys. No thank you. Whoever took the time to make sure pumpkins were everywhere you could see, they did a fantastic job. I was pleasantly surprised by this place. Definitely put me in the fall mood.

Dakota and I had a great time here. There was a little walk way that was soooo spooky, decorated with cute Halloween decor. String lights hung all around the path, which I bet would’ve been super romantic at night. Pumpkin towers stood in random places, and if there were ever a place to have a fall photo shoot, this would be it. Maybe there will be a new lookbook or something coming out for y’all………we’ll have to see.

Besides the pumpkins, there was also plenty of flowers. They had annuals, semi-annuals, succulents, you name it. I wanted to pick me up a few but decided that my wallet deserved a much needed break. The colors and smells of this place were really something special. Such a cool little spot in our tiny neck of the woods.

These little guys had to be the most perfect pieces of nature I’ve ever seen. How is it possible to grow something that looks right off a dictionary picture? Now there were obviously plenty of perfect pumpkins, but I’m pretty sure Dakota and I were the cutest throughout the entire patch.

As far as my outfit goes, I wore a plain black T-shirt (my boyfriend’s), and some burnt orange jeans (from La’Patricia), which y’all should already know is my favorite color, and my staple black booties (JCPenny’s). An outfit like this one, that is inclusive of fall colors, is such an easy way to feel festive and trendy without going all out.

I had an absolutely amazing time here at Ellis Pottery. It was a great day we’ll never forget, and if you ever have an opportunity to go to a place like this one, definitely go. Having fun adventures such as this one makes me excited to see what else the season has in store for us.

Until next time,

Fall Haul (Pt. 2)

Everyone, I have a confession to make. I am a shopaholic.

I know. Who would’ve guessed? Well, probably my boyfriend.

Last Monday I showed you some new pieces I bought over the weekend. Wednesday I showed you some looks from a new eyeshadow palette I got. And Friday I was sick… but here we are Monday and as promised, I have Part 2 of my Fall Haul ready to go for y’all. Brace yourself. This is one of my best shoots yet.

This haul was created to highlight the new items I bought from Forever 21. Unfortunately, this post is not sponsored.

Starry Day:

Yellow, we meet again. And I see you brought your old pals mom jeans and ankle booties. How clever of you.

This color yellow is a more vibrant hue than I would normally shoot for. But as soon as I laid eyes on it, I fell for the stars. It was unique. It was dramatic. And it’s super soft.

The purple boots balance this look perfectly. This is an ideal example of how contrasting colors can really bring an outfit together. The top and the jeans are both from Forever 21. I’m back on my high waisted craze.

Queen B:

Queen of damn near everything and it’s about time y’all recognize. You all saw this killer crop top in my last Haul post because I just got it. I saw the fishnets online and immediately thought of this top and thus the outfit was born.

Fishnets were really trending starting in the spring, and over the summer. However, I’m FINALLY jumping on the band wagon, just as everyone else is hopping off. I do not mind that at all. The fishnets look so good under these jeans, the crop top lets them peep through on my midsection, and your girl slays. As usual.

This look totally gives me 90’s grunge mixed with modern high end style vibes. It’s the fishnets combined with the GUCCI rip off and the heels that do the trick. I’m in awe. This was definitely one of my favorite outfits.

As the weather slowly changes from scorching hot to mildly chilling, a look like this is perfect to transfer from day to night. The crop top is not too much, the jeans are loose fitting, and the entire fit is comfy. Ahhhhhhh!!! I need more cropped hoodies!

Vintage Babe:

Vintage has never been a style I go for. It just wasn’t anything I was into. I loved grunge and girly things in high school, but slowly I find myself bouncing between vintage and streetwear looks, or mix matching the two. For the look above, I kept the fishnets on, changed into my HUF shirt that I also got last weekend, and changed my jeans….

LOOK AT THESE JEANS!!! You can see from my face how comfy they are. They’re two toned, the left leg being the medium wash and the right leg being the light wash. I admire these jeans.

The reason this look reads as vintage is because I get the vision of a mom taking two completely different colored jeans, having to sew them together and hand them down for their kid. I love it. A piece like this would usually be completely out of my comfort zone, but I’m into it.

If pants aren’t your thing, F21 has a skirt and I believe a jacket version just like these. I hope these become a major trend. Go get your piece for they’re all gone.

Moto Baddie:

I am warning y’all right now, do not sleep on me this season.

Red and yellow are calling my name, but burnt orange will always be my fave. The jacket, the jeans, the boots, I got it all honey. You need it too.

The jacket is the Red Moto jacket from Forever 21. Every girl deserves a nice faux leather jacket, and while it used to be that black was the staple, I am living for this red one. Dare to stand out my ladies.

I used my hand painted boots to bring this look together. If you love these booties as much as me, fear not, they will soon be up for sale on my Depop. I got you covered, don’t worry.

Thank you for reading. I hope you loved this post as much as I loved putting it together for y’all. Shoutout to Cassidy for taking these super awesome photos for me.

If you’re enjoying these hauls/ mini lookbooks, let me know. They’re one of my favorite things to do. Let these looks inspire you this season. I’d love to see any recreations you come up with.

Until next time,

The BEST Autumn Eyeshadow Palettes

My favorite makeup product of all time is eyeshadow. I love creating eye looks on the daily. It’s just the route of empowerment I love to take. It’s the one thing I go into Sephora for, but leave with others too (if I can afford it). And even though I love eyeshadow year round, there is something about the fall time that really gets my creativity going. In today’s post, I’m showing you 3 looks I created combining the Kat Von D Shade and Light palette I was obsessed with last year, and the ABH Subculture palette I got the other day. And I couldn’t leave out a dark lip. To see how you can create these yourself, keep reading until the end!!

For the first eye look, I decided to go with a traditional autumn vibe and do an orange with deep burgundy. I love the way the ABH colors stand out. The deep red comes from the Shade and Light palette

Pumpkin:

The orange is just so vibrant, it compliments my eyes really well. And the lipstick I’m wearing is just a brown from a Sephora collection.

Princess Peach:

This look I got really adventurous. I used an electric pink, softened by a light brown, and my favorite part: underlined with a bold yellow. I’ve never really thought about putting a completely different color on my lower lids. I really liked this.

At first I was having so much trouble trying to get a really good look, but these colors are so nice together. I will definitely keep going with this trend. It just goes to show you that even though you’re struggling during application, you could still come out with a great look.

Medusa

I find it extremely hard to wear dark eye looks. I worry so much about having “racoon eyes”. But it’s time to get over that. And I’m loving this progression I feel happening.

The dark green blended into this brown. I was really surprised with how this shade worked into my skin. I didn’t even need to put on a transition shade. I used a light golden shade to lighten my lid, and the only shade I used for this look from the Shade and Light palette was a white for my inner eye highlight.

A look like this is completely out of my comfort zone, but this look is by far my favorite. It’s so dark but can go with so many outfits and lipstick. Greens and golds are such an iconic duo.

Kat Von D Shade and Light Palette:

Colors used:

Look 1: Succubus

Look 2: Solas

Look 3: Liberatus

ABH SUBCULTURE:

Colors used:

Look 1: New Wave

Look 2: Roxy and Edge

Look 3: Destiny and Adorn

These 3 looks are by far my favorite I’ve ever created. I really hope they inspire some of your beauty looks in season. The ABH Subculture palette was such a great buy, and I recommend it for anyone who needs diverse fall shades.

Thank you for reading. Until next time,

Emma Katy
