Fall Haul (Pt. 2)

Everyone, I have a confession to make. I am a shopaholic.

I know. Who would’ve guessed? Well, probably my boyfriend.

Last Monday I showed you some new pieces I bought over the weekend. Wednesday I showed you some looks from a new eyeshadow palette I got. And Friday I was sick… but here we are Monday and as promised, I have Part 2 of my Fall Haul ready to go for y’all. Brace yourself. This is one of my best shoots yet.

This haul was created to highlight the new items I bought from Forever 21. Unfortunately, this post is not sponsored.

Starry Day:

Yellow, we meet again. And I see you brought your old pals mom jeans and ankle booties. How clever of you.

This color yellow is a more vibrant hue than I would normally shoot for. But as soon as I laid eyes on it, I fell for the stars. It was unique. It was dramatic. And it’s super soft.

The purple boots balance this look perfectly. This is an ideal example of how contrasting colors can really bring an outfit together. The top and the jeans are both from Forever 21. I’m back on my high waisted craze.

Queen B:

Queen of damn near everything and it’s about time y’all recognize. You all saw this killer crop top in my last Haul post because I just got it. I saw the fishnets online and immediately thought of this top and thus the outfit was born.

Fishnets were really trending starting in the spring, and over the summer. However, I’m FINALLY jumping on the band wagon, just as everyone else is hopping off. I do not mind that at all. The fishnets look so good under these jeans, the crop top lets them peep through on my midsection, and your girl slays. As usual.

This look totally gives me 90’s grunge mixed with modern high end style vibes. It’s the fishnets combined with the GUCCI rip off and the heels that do the trick. I’m in awe. This was definitely one of my favorite outfits.

As the weather slowly changes from scorching hot to mildly chilling, a look like this is perfect to transfer from day to night. The crop top is not too much, the jeans are loose fitting, and the entire fit is comfy. Ahhhhhhh!!! I need more cropped hoodies!

Vintage Babe:

Vintage has never been a style I go for. It just wasn’t anything I was into. I loved grunge and girly things in high school, but slowly I find myself bouncing between vintage and streetwear looks, or mix matching the two. For the look above, I kept the fishnets on, changed into my HUF shirt that I also got last weekend, and changed my jeans….

LOOK AT THESE JEANS!!! You can see from my face how comfy they are. They’re two toned, the left leg being the medium wash and the right leg being the light wash. I admire these jeans.

The reason this look reads as vintage is because I get the vision of a mom taking two completely different colored jeans, having to sew them together and hand them down for their kid. I love it. A piece like this would usually be completely out of my comfort zone, but I’m into it.

If pants aren’t your thing, F21 has a skirt and I believe a jacket version just like these. I hope these become a major trend. Go get your piece for they’re all gone.

Moto Baddie:

I am warning y’all right now, do not sleep on me this season.

Red and yellow are calling my name, but burnt orange will always be my fave. The jacket, the jeans, the boots, I got it all honey. You need it too.

The jacket is the Red Moto jacket from Forever 21. Every girl deserves a nice faux leather jacket, and while it used to be that black was the staple, I am living for this red one. Dare to stand out my ladies.

I used my hand painted boots to bring this look together. If you love these booties as much as me, fear not, they will soon be up for sale on my Depop. I got you covered, don’t worry.

Thank you for reading. I hope you loved this post as much as I loved putting it together for y’all. Shoutout to Cassidy for taking these super awesome photos for me.

If you’re enjoying these hauls/ mini lookbooks, let me know. They’re one of my favorite things to do. Let these looks inspire you this season. I’d love to see any recreations you come up with.

Until next time,

Emma Katy

Old Navy Haul

As I told y’all, I’ve been doing a lot of shopping lately. And I’m gonna keep shopping until my wardrobe is full for the summer. My last shopping trip I went to was at Old Navy. I got SO MUCH STUFF from their Memorial Day sales weekend. Nearly everything was 50% off.

Old Navy had a lot of good basics, like T-shirts, shorts, and even active clothes. I feel like everything they make is pretty high quality. It can be hard to find staple pieces there, but if you look hard enough you will find them.

The first thing I love is this white T-shirt with a little American Flag finger peace sign. I think the patch is adorable. The shirt itself is a little see-through, but it looks great with a cami underneath. I actually got this in a size large because the flowiness will make it much more wearable in the summer time, along with the color.

The next thing is this olive green T-shirt with “Live Well & Travel Often” written on it. I wish I would’ve sized up for this shirt, but it is amazingly comfortable and soft.

“All American” I like this shirt because I feel like it is patriotic, but I hope everyone feels included to wear it. I love the lettering, the grey texture, and the fit. It is so comfy. I love it so much. Keep in mind, all of these T-shirts were 50% off.

One of the best things I have in this haul is this dress. I adore flowy dresses, and this one is definitely flowy. It has a collared neck, some panelling on the chest and a tiny V neck. It’s so interesting. I love the design. It’s as if someone sketched it with a pen.

I’ve been on the lookout for shorts. Any kind of shorts except Jean shorts. I don’t know what it is but I feel like Jean shorts just make me look so clumpy. These linen shirts were also on sale at Old Navy and they are so cute. I don’t like how the white is see through, so I’ll probably just be wearing these to the lake as a cover up. The draw string is so cute, in my opinion. I think these are great for the weather, seeing as their light weight.

The last (but certainly not least) thing I bought is this adorable sleep romper. These were hidden in the store, I swear. I walked around the store like 3 times before finding these. I am in a romper phase or something at this point. I also see this as a bathing suit cover up, or even a layering piece. Super soft, comfortable, and affordable! This shopping trip was a total gold mine. I love the color, and the striped designs.

Thank you so much for reading! Y’all need to go shopping at Old Navy. They have some good stuff for summer. Old Navy was a store I used to never consider. But I’m slowly moving from stores like Rue21 to Old Navy and others. Eventually I’ll be shopping at like JCPenny. Y’all stay hydrated and wear breathable clothing.

Peace,

Emma Katy

My Red Obsession

When I was in high school, there were a few things I hated and would never wear. I hated sweatpants, ballet flats (my favorite shoe were high tops or ankle booties), knee high boots, and a few other things. Among all of my very closed minded hated fashion was the color red.

Red was like a crime to nature. I hated everything that looked red. I wouldn’t wear it, I wouldn’t draw or paint with it. Nothing. Nah dah. And as how I’ve stopped being so closed about the other things I stuck my nose up to (now I even wear sweatpants to work if the opportunity arrises) my wardrobe is now craving red.

I’ve been wearing this red shirt like everyday for the past week. I love it with shorts and flats. It’s my boyfriends, so it’s oversized. It’s simply a bright red, so I have no idea why I love it so much right now, but I can’t get over it.

Next is this button up revlon shirt. It has thin red stripes, but also other colors too, like black and green. It can be paired with a lot of things, my favorite being this black tank top and my green pants that I wore in my Breezy Beautiful post. It’s so weightless for summer, I can’t get enough of the silhouette either.

I realized I really liked red when I randomly put on red nail polish. Me? And red nail polish? That’s like never happened. What is even happening to me right now??? I also painted with it.

That’s right. I painted these shoes. The original soles were a dark brown, and perfectly fine. But inspiration struck, and I went through all of my paints to (for some reason) pick RED!!! These shoes just need another coat of red, and a top layer to protect the color, and they’ll be good to go. Now I’m surrounded by it at all times. I’m even covering up with a red blanket as I write this. And just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse:

I’m drinking red things too. I officially have a problem. Shirts, shoes, nails, and now I’m ingesting it. I can’t help myself.

I used to surround myself with cool colors, like blue, green, and purple. But now all the sudden I’m drawn to oranges, yellows, and especially red. I don’t know if it’s because of the summer or if it has something to do with my emotional or mental state, no clue. Just another thing in my life that’s changing.

Thank you for reading!! I thought this would be a funny little thing to write about. Let me know if you have any current obsessions you can’t get enough of. See you soon!

Peace,

Emma Katy
