Summer F*ck It List

(I know my post is late but please cut me some slack. Classes are crazy and I worked an 11 hour shift yesterday. I will do better, promise!) God, summer hurry up already. I’m so ready to be out of school, done worrying about classes, and be full of fun times. I’m so excited for summer to start, all I’ve been thinking about lately is how I’m going to spend my time-when I actually get some to myself. I figured it was time to make a list of all these things and share my adventures with you.

  1. Take my boyfriend to Six Flags (I’ve been meaning to take him for the last two years but either didn’t have the money, time, or mode of transportation. That changes this year.)
  2. Day Trip to Austin (I’ve never gone to Austin, TX even though it’s been a dream of mine to visit) I’m considering transferring to UT Austin sometime in the near future, so I would love to explore the city first.
  3. Visit at least 4 hole-in-the-wall coffee shops. You know how I am. Gotta collect those T shirts.
  4. Win a volley ball game against my boyfriend (one of these days I will have my chance)
  5. Go to a concert or music festival
  6. Get bikes to see the city with (Austin, Houston, Oklahoma City)
  7. Take a cruise to wherever (please please please bank account can I?)
  8. Graffiti on something (do sidewalks count? I think yes. And by graffiti I mean like chalk of course…)
  9. Go to that revolving tower thing in Dallas with my boyfriend. (They have those Day & Night passes and we’re both terrified of heights, so obviously we have to go)
  10. Go sing karaoke sometime

I know that these aren’t really Wild N’ Out but I love taking adventures. My boyfriend and I want to travel a lot this summer. Experience the world around us and slowly branch out. I’d also love to share these new things with you guys, and all the fashion, beauty, adulting, art, and photography along the way!!! Hit me up with some of your summer plans. What are some things you and your friends have planned? I’d love you hear all about it.

Let’s recap in the fall and see how much I’ve actually accomplished. Thanks for reading and wish me luck!!

    Beach Baddie

Alright it’s been a little while since I’ve posted a beauty tutorial on eyeshadow. Eyeshadow is my favorite part about doing my face and I usually stick to the same bleh, boring colors. But I thought I’d play around a little bit and show you all what I came up with.

I’ve mentioned summer like 500 times already and it isn’t stopping, no no no. It’s only begun. And I decided to take the inspirational season and work it into this beauty post. For the first look, we have a really simple easy to do one, and then the second is bolder and more complex.

    Sandy!

    Tell me about it, Stud.

This is a very bright look. To create this look I used a pale off white as a transition shade. Then I went in with a neutral (not warm) brown to darken my creases. Finally I used my eyeshadow from my Profusion palette, the shade Cleopatra, to golden up my lids. The shimmer is what reminds me of sand. I love this look for a day to the beach or lake. I always love gold, and I feel like this bright pop is perfect for the season.

    Tidal Wave

This eye look was my favorite. I love how perfect I got the blue crease. It looks like a blue rainbow on my eyelid. This look is very dramatic and definitely noticable.

To create this look, I started with the same brown as before to buff out my outer corners. I used a greenish sparkley eyeshadow from the same Profusion palette called Mermaid and dragged it all along my crease. I kept it messy because I knew I’d be cleaning it up. Then, I used a STUNNING blue in the shade Genie in a Bottle from the same palette to really add a pop of color. I left my lid bare, kind of like a cut crease but different, because I loved the effect it gave to the look.

This look was made for summer nights, where ever they take you. I kept the wing small, to maintain some balance. But hey, let’s not forget about the lips.

I really wanted to have sort of a Mermaid vibe going on so I went with my metallic mouse liquid lipstick, to kind of mimic the scales on a Mermaid”s tail. Doesn’t it look so pretty with the matte blue? It really adds a mood to this look, am I right?

Thanks for reading!!! I hope you draw some inspiration from these looks. It’s so fun to play around with eyeshadows for me, so expect more of these. Happy Wednesday!!

    Style Evolution

Fashion changes all the time. What’s in now will be gone and forgotten in a few weeks. Before long we’ll be saying “Oh my God remember when we wore chokers and fishnets under our jeans?” Just to see our kids doing it later in life.

Trends change all the time, so there’s no reason why you’re personal style can’t change as well.

If you’ve been following this blog, my snapchat, or instagram, you would know that my style changes day by day.

From downtown grunge-ish moody teen girl

To sweet and simple uptown funk sophisticate

    And lazy day threw-this-on galore.

In high school, (or movie depicting what high school should be like) a person with a certain personality should dress relatively the same everyday. And that’s cool and all if that’s you. But don’t feel intimidated into fitting a mold.

I know a lot of times my friends would say “I wish I could wear a dress to school, but I don’t feel like I can” or something along those lines. And I would always tell them the same thing. DO IT!! Have no fear. Don’t worry about what people think. I know that’s easier said than done. There have been many times I’ve questioned myself before leaving the house. There would be mornings where I’d try on 5 different outfits.

I’ve gone to school in some wild things before. I used to paint on my clothes-which was weird for some people I guess but who cares??-I would wear ponchos, long dresses, anything I felt like wearing. And I would feel great doing it. And one day I’d look girly and the next I would go to school wearing my brother’s clothes.

Every now and then, I see an Instagram photo and wish I could dress like that. I’ll watch a YouTube video and think “man, I wish I had that sense of style”. But that kind of thinking doesn’t last long. The next morning, I pick out whatever makes me feel amazing.

It’s great to draw inspiration from people. It’s amazing to share styling tips and clothes. It’s okay to change up your clothing. It’s okay to have fun. That’s what fashion is all about. Don’t worry about venturing into new things. Buy that crop top, or that floral dress, or that killer moto jacket and walk that sidewalk. Love yourself. Change it up.

I used to wear band tees and skinny jeans. I’d never wear the color red. And sweatpants were the most horrible offense you could make. That’s all changed. And thank goodness I stopped being so closed minded.

And another thing. Don’t be afraid to be labeled things. Sometimes people will say things like “I don’t want them to think I’m goth” or “I’m not usually this girly” and things like that. Don’t be afraid. You can be anything and everything you love. Thanks for reading. I got some new summer trends and things in mind. So be ready for this blog to be full of all kinds of warm weather related things even more so than it is already.
