Home Decor Projects  (p. 2)

Last Friday I shared with you all some projects I wanted to do to jazz up my room. Growing up has brought me to like a new color scheme, and has made me realize how much crap I hoard for no good reason.

So over the past week I went through almost everything I own. I went through my nail polishes, my clothes (again), my art supplies, my books, and just random drawers and places around my room. I decluttered my room already by at least 45%.

I’m still on this decluttering journey, which I will still share with each of you along the way. But in the mean time, I thought I should try to create a space I really enjoy being in. So I went antiquing and thrifting. Last Friday, I showed you all the before pictures, which you can find in the blog post titled “Home Decor Projects  (p.1)”. Here, I will be showing you the results, and how I’ve decided to purpose my new creations.

I painted the frame white, cleaned the mirror, and now this old mirror is a beautiful tray. I love it so much. I picked some perfumes and lotions to display to make it functional.

I turned this gross old silverware tray into a makeshift makeup organizer. I love it for my lipsticks, and to hold other things in place. It fits perfectly in my desk drawer. I love how this turned out.

I found some old puffy paint and thought it would be perfect for this. It’s not completely finished because I want to cover the whole thing in designs, but I’m so excited to start collecting memories to keep in this cute box.

These we didn’t change up so much. We just painted the frames black. They look so much better. It’s crazy what a coat of spray paint can do.

I really love these two. I moved my brushes to this big mason jar, (after spraying the mason jar white) and elevated my daily makeup with the candle holder. These things together help me organize my makeup even more and create a dynamic desk top. This was honestly one of my best ideas I think.

So I didn’t turn the cup into a candle. Instead I put clear rocks inside and used it as a book stopper. I love the candle beside it. These look amazing on my shelf. I love how my room is coming together.

This is it you guys. The project you’ve all been waiting for. I love the painted base. I messed up a little and got some paint on the actual statue, but I think it gives character.

Thanks to my awesome boyfriend for helping me out with these projects. He did so great painting pretty much every single one, even though it was so hot outside. I have a feeling we’ll be doing this many more times in the future. It was really fun to show him everything I found and be creative with him.

Thanks for reading. I was really excited to share with you all these turned out. I hope you love them just as much I do.

Peace,

Emma Katy
