H&M Try-On Haul

If you read my Spring LookBook, you know that I recently went shopping at an H&M. I’ve never shopped here before, and one recently opened up in a town nearby. I like doing hauls for you guys to show you some good stores that I love and will be shopping from. A recent one I did was a 2020AVE haul. They have some really nice stuff. If you haven’t checked it out, please do.

Okay so in total, I got two pairs of shorts, two swearshirts, and a cute little crop top. This first outfit was in that Spring LookBook I mentioned earlier.

This outfit is the BOMB. This crop top is a work of art, noooooo kidding my friends. It is a thin material that is breathable for the summer. It has these embroidered words, it says “life is rocky when you’re a gem”. And these shorts. I could make a shrine for these shorts. You may think that’s a little dramatic, but you have to take into consideration that these shorts are highwaisted, have a good length, pleated, breathable, AND THEY HAVE POCKETS. You guys. Buy these.

I also got these shorts. Super cute. Really comfortable. They are also a good length, a comfortable fit, and have pockets as well. These I do not have a shrine for, but they are definitely a good investment.

The only critique I have is that since I do not have a thigh gap, the little folds on the bottom rub together and make a scratchy sound which is a little more than embarrassing. This will probably fade after more wears and the stiffness goes away, but right now it’s annoying.

I don’t know if y’all have ever heard of TheLineUp on YouTube but they are these really stylish girls who have OUTSTANDINGLY HIGH QUALITY vids. In one of their recent videos (which you can watch here) they did this very innovative thing where they tucked their sweatshirts into their skirts. I adopted that and tucked this adorable sweatshirt into my jean shorts.

They’re little sushi pieces and they have smiley faces on them! I love this sweatshirt from H&M. It makes me crave sushi every time I wear it, and the material is light but not see through. Very good quality stuff.

I really like the style of this sweatshirt. It’s form fitting but not uncomfortable. The sleeves are very nice and the print doesn’t feel tacky to me at all, unlike something similar you may find elsewhere.

This statement piece was a little too thick to tuck in. It’s a very good item to keep you warm. The inside is fuzzy, so it is amazingly comfy. If I was still in high school, I would wear this shirt everyday and take naps on my desk. The inside is as soft as a blanket.

Can we just talk about this text for a minute? I consider myself a feminist because I believe in the equalization of women and men. However, I didn’t create this blog to pour my political views down your throat (you can go to my twitter for that: JeSuisArt). But I do love this sweatshirt down to every single thread. I wear it all the time.

I can’t help myself. This shirt makes me feel empowered and strong. The only thing I would change is a handy little front pocket for my keys or something. Other than that A+++ from me.

That’s everything that I got from H&M recently but I am absolutely positive I will be back soon. Very affordable stuff, very nice quality, and with actual relevant text, I think I’m obsessed.

Thank you so much for reading. I really wanted to show y’all some new stuff. I like to highlight stores and brands that I love with you.

Personal Poetry (No. 2)

Not so long ago I posted a Personal Poetry  (No. 1) and it was pretty successful. I had people reaching out to me to tell me how touching the poems meant to them, and that honestly made a huge difference in me. Writing and stuff, everything I show y’all here, are very deep passions within me that I’ve carried around all my life. To see people I know and people I don’t have such a positive reactin to it is a reward I didn’t anticipate being such a huge deal for me. So because people enjoyed my poetry, I’ve been writing a few more that I wanted to share with y’all. Don’t forget to subscribe to my blog with your email to get updates when I post! I hope you like these:
Be There or Be Square

Little miss guided
Walking straight lines
Little did she know
It was really a square
She gets excited
While she passes the same sign
Just like a minute ago
As if it wasn’t there
She doesn’t fight it
She feels just fine
On this path she follows
She doesn’t really care
Little miss quiet
Running out of time
She breaks the flow
To sit in a chair
Little life lived
If only she could find it
It all feels hollow
It really isn’t fair
Little miss guided
Didn’t live life
Waiting for tomorrow
For moments to share

(Okay, so I kind of think this one needs a little explanation. Basically it’s in A,B,C,D rhyme scheme, which was pretty hard to do. But it really is just about being focused on one goal so much that you miss the life going on around you. I am a workaholic and I always feel like I never have enough time to accomplish anything, so I’m always busy. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but I relate to this poem very much because of it.)

Ode to Blue

His eyes may be blue
But they stain my cheeks red
and his hands may be strong
But they hold me so gentle
There is a calendar in my head
Of dates, pictures, and events
Has it really been so long
Or have I gone completely mental
His cologne smells like home
I hoard his shirts in my house
His love fills up my phone
As much as storage allows
His mouth may be quiet
But his body really speaks
He may be surrounded by valleys
But that’s because he’s at his peak
There is a heart in my chest
That was once very sore
There is a man that’s confessed
His love for me and more
I have fallen down a long well
Of wishes that have come true
I’ve fallen madly in love
With those eyes that are blue

(This one is dedicated to the best boyfriend in the world -in case you couldn’t already tell. He is such a support system for me and we are a great team. It will soon be two years for us and every now and then we return back to those butterfly days. I had that feeling when I wrote this poem at like 3 in the morning while he was sleeping and wouldn’t text me back!)

For my Parents

11 years old and we played in the snow
Picked us up from school early
And your hands held the world steady
13 years old and my life was your newspaper
You gave me advice about everything
You hid the hard things and smiled at us
15 years old, and I’m constantly on your nerves
High school problems, I know everything
You’re fighting battles I don’t see
17 years, and my attitude’s worse
Honestly, I just want to make you proud
And you don’t know I care what you think
19 now and I got secrets
And you know that but you trust me
I don’t know how to express how much I appreciate you
We’re getting old now but I feel like I’m 8
Sitting the back seat watching y’all laugh
Eye contact through the rear view
These fights are becoming few
Although they’ve etched their way into our hearts
It helps the love flow
And I know you don’t want to let us go
But truth is, you will always be with me
Because I’ve formed myself from the shape of you
And that is the best thing I could ever do

(Alright I know that last one is a little rough in the beginning because it doesn’t rhyme and the rhythm is ehhhhhhh, not really present but the message is there. Funny story about that last one though, I actually wrote it in the car on the back from NOLA and I started crying. I was like hiding my face in my pillow, trying not to let my parents know because I was just back there writing a little gushy poem for them lol.)

Okay, so that’s all I got right now. I do have some more tucked away that can be a little vulgar based on the language and on the tone of them, but I’m just waiting to share those with y’all until we develop a better relationship lol. I do hope you like these, and they wedge their way into your hearts somehow. Thanks, as always, for reading and don’t forget to subscribe. It really helps to subscribe so that way I can see your support and you can get updates every time I post.

Lip Gloss Glamour

Welcome back to the blog everyone!! As stated in my previous post, Spring is coming!! I’m so excited for this season. Usually Spring falls to the bottom of my list of seasons that I like, but I’m super excited for the fashion this year.

For awhile now, matte lipsticks, lippies, and liners have been everyone’s staple, including mine. But now I’m kind of venturing into new lighter options to accommodate the weather. I’ve found my solution. Lip gloss. For this post I picked 3 different types of colors.

Neutral:

Even if I’m switching the type of product on my lips, I will probably still be sporting the same colors more often. Nudes gained a lot of popularity, and rightfully so because they can make everyone feel great, no matter their skin tone.

I really like this color. I wish my natural lip color was this gorgeous and vibrant. I will be sticking this shade in my purse for the upcoming months.

Pretty Pinks:

Pinks, corals, and blush colors are new additions I’ve been slowly making myself comfortable with. Bright pink matte lipsticks always made me feel so out of place, but this lip gloss adds a cute little touch of coral to my look without me feeling too extra.

I know matte colors got outstandingly popular because they are, well, matte. But I’m adoring the sheen and shine lip glosses offer. It brings me back to the early 2000’s.

Glitter:

Now I’m definitely not recommending completely throwing out your matte colors. I’m saying to explore your lip game options. There are beautiful glitter options like this that are amazing on top of normal lipsticks. They add a flare of fun to any look that you can’t get anywhere else.

All of these products are from The Color Workshop. The brand is quickly making its way to my make up collection and growing. I love everything I’ve ever gotten from them.

Thank you all for reading and giving me your feedback. I truly think lip glosses will be a makeup trend this season.
