Fall Haul (Pt. 2)

Everyone, I have a confession to make. I am a shopaholic.

I know. Who would’ve guessed? Well, probably my boyfriend.

Last Monday I showed you some new pieces I bought over the weekend. Wednesday I showed you some looks from a new eyeshadow palette I got. And Friday I was sick… but here we are Monday and as promised, I have Part 2 of my Fall Haul ready to go for y’all. Brace yourself. This is one of my best shoots yet.

This haul was created to highlight the new items I bought from Forever 21. Unfortunately, this post is not sponsored.

Starry Day:

Yellow, we meet again. And I see you brought your old pals mom jeans and ankle booties. How clever of you.

This color yellow is a more vibrant hue than I would normally shoot for. But as soon as I laid eyes on it, I fell for the stars. It was unique. It was dramatic. And it’s super soft.

The purple boots balance this look perfectly. This is an ideal example of how contrasting colors can really bring an outfit together. The top and the jeans are both from Forever 21. I’m back on my high waisted craze.

Queen B:

Queen of damn near everything and it’s about time y’all recognize. You all saw this killer crop top in my last Haul post because I just got it. I saw the fishnets online and immediately thought of this top and thus the outfit was born.

Fishnets were really trending starting in the spring, and over the summer. However, I’m FINALLY jumping on the band wagon, just as everyone else is hopping off. I do not mind that at all. The fishnets look so good under these jeans, the crop top lets them peep through on my midsection, and your girl slays. As usual.

This look totally gives me 90’s grunge mixed with modern high end style vibes. It’s the fishnets combined with the GUCCI rip off and the heels that do the trick. I’m in awe. This was definitely one of my favorite outfits.

As the weather slowly changes from scorching hot to mildly chilling, a look like this is perfect to transfer from day to night. The crop top is not too much, the jeans are loose fitting, and the entire fit is comfy. Ahhhhhhh!!! I need more cropped hoodies!

Vintage Babe:

Vintage has never been a style I go for. It just wasn’t anything I was into. I loved grunge and girly things in high school, but slowly I find myself bouncing between vintage and streetwear looks, or mix matching the two. For the look above, I kept the fishnets on, changed into my HUF shirt that I also got last weekend, and changed my jeans….

LOOK AT THESE JEANS!!! You can see from my face how comfy they are. They’re two toned, the left leg being the medium wash and the right leg being the light wash. I admire these jeans.

The reason this look reads as vintage is because I get the vision of a mom taking two completely different colored jeans, having to sew them together and hand them down for their kid. I love it. A piece like this would usually be completely out of my comfort zone, but I’m into it.

If pants aren’t your thing, F21 has a skirt and I believe a jacket version just like these. I hope these become a major trend. Go get your piece for they’re all gone.

Moto Baddie:

I am warning y’all right now, do not sleep on me this season.

Red and yellow are calling my name, but burnt orange will always be my fave. The jacket, the jeans, the boots, I got it all honey. You need it too.

The jacket is the Red Moto jacket from Forever 21. Every girl deserves a nice faux leather jacket, and while it used to be that black was the staple, I am living for this red one. Dare to stand out my ladies.

I used my hand painted boots to bring this look together. If you love these booties as much as me, fear not, they will soon be up for sale on my Depop. I got you covered, don’t worry.

Thank you for reading. I hope you loved this post as much as I loved putting it together for y’all. Shoutout to Cassidy for taking these super awesome photos for me.

If you’re enjoying these hauls/ mini lookbooks, let me know. They’re one of my favorite things to do. Let these looks inspire you this season. I’d love to see any recreations you come up with.

Until next time,

Emma Katy

Fall Haul

Recently I have been on the no spending game. Like maybe I bought food and school supplies, but I NEED those things. So for a few months it was “no new clothes”, “no new makeup”, and it was also closet purging time. So I ended up with literally nothing. I didn’t have any new looks to show y’all because I had no new clothes, and most importantly, no inspiration. Well last week, I said “you know what, I deserve to let loose.” And I took myself on a shopping spree. Today’s post is Part. 1 of 2. The next part will come next Monday.

This adorable mustard shirt I got at Pacsun. I love the color, which I never thought I would. I hatteedd, I mean absolutely despised the color yellow, but it’s hitting me hard this season. The little pocket in the front is cute, even if I’ll never use it.

Shirts like these I don’t usually go for because they’re just plain. I’m more drawn to graphic tees because I feel it is so much easier to translate your true self when wearing them. But a shirt like this is good for layering, which will be a must(ard) this season.

The next thing is probably my fav:

This is the only Huf shirt I own. The pale pink and light brown are just so cute. I saw this shirt and instantly imagined it tucked into high waisted jeans and I said “yep, need it.” But then I put it on and realized it could just as easily speak for itself. The only thing I wish is that the bold neckline was repeated on the sleeves and hem. But I’m still in awe for this top.

I mean look at it. Is it vintage? Is it modern? I can’t tell. I don’t care. It’s my new staple. That’s for dang sure.

But in case anyone forgot I was a 90’s girl:

“Mamaaaaaaaaa, ooooooohhhoooo, I don’t wannaaaa diieeee”

I know this isn’t Queen band merch, but that’s all I can think of when I see this crop top.

I’m almost positive this is a GUCCI design knock off, but I prefer this. The red stripes against the white instantly reminds me of 90’s fashion for some reason. I actually saw this in the window display, ran back into the store to get it, and left. I needed it. How else would everyone know I’m royalty? You gotta tell em.

My new car is turning me into a new person. You can see my attitude through my pictures. It’s gotten out of hand.

If you follow me on Instagram (Emmakaty_), you would’ve seen this cute little piece down below.

Just your local cool girl doing the same pose but from two different angles. I’m a creature of habit, what can I say? This jacket was actually 50% off, so I think it came in at an astounding $8.50!! How insane is that? It’s velvet AND embroidered. And pink. When do I wear pink???

I love this jacket. Bombers and motos are so in for fall every year. Velvet is still going strong, and I have a feeling it will stay that way all the way up into the holidays. New color trends: mustard, orange, denim, and browns. But there’s one more trend I have for yall:

I don’t remember what on the ground was so interesting.

I’m telling y’all right now, don’t sleep on me. I’m really feeling this season. Follow me on twitter  (Jesuisart) or whatever you gotta do to keep up with my #ootd.

The burnt orange in this shirt is just perfect. It’s so vibrant and noticeable.

It’s really easy to make a statement outfit with this shirt alone. I’m in love. Tie Dye is gonna be in y’all. You heard it here first.

Make these looks yourself:

Fall/Back To School Lookbook

Summer time is dreadfully coming to a close, and although that means less time swimming, more time schooling, and no time to ourselves, it also means new fashion trends!! So it’s really not so bad.

I wanted to make a huge look book for you readers, and although I asked a few people to get involved, I sadly received a lack of participants. Nevertheless, I’m more than happy to present to you the looks I came up with, in collaboration with one of the cutest girls I have ever met.

Autumn (isn’t her name so appropriate for this post?) is an adorable young woman going into her senior year of high school. She’s a cutie, and I really loved working with her. Be ready to see her smile and firey red hair in upcoming posts.

Look at her glowing. She said that she doesn’t usually wear yellow, but decided she wanted to try something new. This dress is absolutely stunning, and can easily transition from work day to fun afternoon.

Her styling skills are inpressive. She paired this bright feminine dress with these super masculine Doc Marten’s, with yellow stitching. A subtle but effective way to bring an outfit together.

Denim is always a staple, but even more so for school this year I think. Wearing a lightweight shirt like this is the perfect way to stay compliant with school dresscodes. Y’all know I love a good button up.

This next one may be my favorite of Autumn’s collection.

She wore the same denim shirt, but in a different way, tucking it into her black jeans. This is the perfect example of why skirts like these are so great for the school season. It’s easy to create different looks using virtually the same pieces.

Aren’t these jeans the cutest? This outfit is so simple, but elegant. Sometimes less is more. Autumn said this outfit was really comfortable, and easy to put together. It’s so easy to see her confidencein this look.

Maroon, maroon, maroon. Is it really Fall without maroon? It just isn’t. Again Autumn shows us the art of simplicity and chic.

The lace and the maroon combination could not scream October any louder. This shirt was made for pumpkin season. Easy to style for back to school because it could be worn as is over pants or a skirt, and layered under a cardigan or jacket.

Last but not least, we have the comfy outfit. Autumn said she chose to do an outfit like this one because you don’t always feel like dressing up everyday. But wait:

A little detail in the back for some extra interest. There’s always a way to cozy but stylish at the same time.

Being comfy and cozy is always a priority during the school year. Leggings, an oversized sweatshirt, and some tennis shoes is the ideal Monday look.

Now, because Autumn is in high school, she is in school longer and more days than I am. She always has to abide by a dress code, which I do not. So my looks have a tad bit more freedom, but overall, I was going for the same things. Comfortable looks I wouldn’t mind sitting around in all day, and wouldn’t be too hard to put together in the morning.

Sweater season is back and y’all know I’m ready. I ventured deep onto the abyss of my closet and found this beautiful pearl.

I paired this soft F21 sweater with my chic H&M shorts. And I also grabbed this book that DEFINITELY read and didn’t just use as a prop.

I’m all about the tucked in look for every season, because I usually go for oversized everything. When it comes to fall, I traditionally wear sweaters, but don’t tuck them in. This year I wanted to try something new. I really like the concept, as you can tell with my next outfit.

4 syllables: Com-fort-a-ble. Easy way to look poor and like a business woman at the same time. Confuse them with your style.

I’m in love with this silhouette. The A line skirt simply can’t be beat, and the soft sweater. This outfit was out of my traditional comfort zone, but once on I felt better than I had all summer. I’m so ready for fall.

Beige and orange are quickly becoming my favorite colors to wear. It was red and black, but now I’m evolving. I see myself in many versions of these colors in the upcoming months.

Next though, may be my favorite of my own outfits.

Maroon, we meet again!!! Simply can’t stray away from maroon. Here, you see me behind the counter at the Jo’s NTCC location. I think I was looking at the rain, and remembering that I left my umbrella in my car.

This picture was taken before the previous one, when I was blissfully happy. This shirt, you’ve seen before in my 2020Ave haul. I’ve mentioned that haul like 20000 times, so you KNOW their products are soo good.

I tied this shirt into a rose knot just to add a little flavor. I like to do this when the outfit just needs something extra, and the shirt is long enough. It’s also a good way to create a cropped silhouette without cutting the shirt or tucking it in (because you don’t want to do that everyday like I tend to).

And these pants are actually maternity pants. Can you believe that? Thank the Gods of thrifting for this find. These little cargo Capri pants have saved my life on multiple occasions. Get yourself a pair for those cold classrooms, but lingering hot days.

That’s it this week folks. I know it’s pretty late, but finding help for this post put me in the gutter more times than not. I hope some of these looks inspire you this season. Have fun! Peace,

Emma Katy
