Ugh Inconsistencies, my old foe, we meet again.

Ugh Inconsistencies, my old foe, we meet again.

I know, I know, my blog posts keeps going in and out with when am I really going to post? What am I actually going to post? So on and so forth.

Many people close to me probably understand why I’m having such a hard time keeping up with my blog, but this post is for those of you who don’t talk to me everyday, and are curious about why in the heck I just can’t get my stuff together.

Basically, this past weekend we went through a move. We’re actually STILL in the process of moving. I told my mom earlier today, “I don’t know why I thought moving was fun when I was a kid.” It’s honestly such a hassle. But we’re extremely happy with our new place. A new place means new inspiration, and I’m all about it. I spent most of my day today organizing my new room. It feels good. Let me know if you’d be interested in a room tour. My friend Chelsey and I talked about it a little bit, and I think something like that would be really fun.

But besides the immediate tasks that demand my attention, there are other factors too. It’s stress, mostly. As many of you are probably experiencing as well, I’m suffering from stress about my finals. I have exams this week, and finals next week. That, plus the increasing demand for help at my work, I’m having trouble keeping up. Let’s not forget that I now live much closer to my boyfriend, so I’ve been taking advantage of that just fine. Don’t get me wrong, I love the busy life. Emma just wouldn’t be Emma if she wasn’t running around like crazy. I just need to find a way to adjust. Please be patient with me.

Another thing I wanted to bring up was that it’s December now. I’m mournfully waving goodbye to fall and happily embracing the Christmas season. I’m very excited to document some festive things I’ll be up to this year and share them all with you. I’m hoping to create some new content that you all will love and appreciate.

I don’t like posting when I feel my content is not gracefully prepared, or my writing needs tweaking, or anything is out of place. This is why most of my posts don’t get published until later in the night. You’d think that after a year of blogging, I’d figure out a posting schedule. Maybe that will be on my New Year’s Resolutions list. I’m sure that list will be a long one for 2018.

Anyways, I wanted to give y’all a short little update on my life and what I’ve been doing. I also want to thank all of you loyal readers that stick with me. You guys keeps me going.

Until we meet again,

The Future is Female

The Future is Female

Is anyone else noticing all this girl power out here lately? I mean, we are really blooming ladies, and it’s quite the sight to see. I love supporting my fellow female artists in their endeavors and getting inspiration from them. Today, we’re going to be talking about some beautiful, smart, and creative women, and what they’re up to. A little while ago I wrote a post about getting inspired, and wrote about some other bloggers and Youtubers in that post. I’ll link it here, for those of you that are interested.

Kailee Morgue:

I’ve been following Kailee for a long time. I found her covers on Twitter, and it’s been quite interesting watching her grow over time. She recently was signed, which is really amazing news! She showcased a little snippet of her song “Medusa” on Twitter (forever ago), and ever since then we’ve all been anxiously waiting for it’s release. The song has been completed, and I just wanted to share this piece of art with you all. Click the image above to take you to “Medusa”, the captivating lyric video.

Charlotte Cardin:

You’ve heard of Lana Del Rey. You’ve obsessed over Lorde. Now, get ready for Charlotte Cardin!!!!

Charlotte Cardin is a canadian artist. She’s 22 years old, and her voice packs a nostalgic punch. Her vocals take me all the way back to the 20’s, as if I lived there once. Her music is a mix between Jazz, Pop, and Electro. She releases music in both English and French. I love the way she uses her voice. She has a unique sound, and her lyrics are insanely poetic. My favorite songs of hers are Dirty Dirty, Big Boy, and The Kids. If you’re ever in a mood, put on Charlotte Cardin and get lost in your emotions.

Billie Eilish:

15!!!!! This honey bee is FIFTEEN YEARS OLD!!! I didn’t know this until 5 seconds ago and I’ve been geeking out about her album all morning. That just makes everything I’ve heard so far so much more impressive. She’s so honest. She’s so brutal. I love this young artist and I’m excited for her future. I know she has a lot of growing to do. Like, she’s amazing, no doubt. But she still has a lot of learning and polishing, which means there’s a lot to expect from her. Catching an artist in this stage is really hard, and I’m excited to see her blossom. Keep your eye on Billie. She’s not going anywhere, except all the way to the top.

Hannah Louise

Hannah Louise is a fashion blogger who dabbles into lifestyle and all other kinds of things. She has this bright red hair I love. I found her on Instagram. Her feed is full of colors. I absolutely love how she plays with colors and silhouettes. She asked in her About page to not use her pictures without asking, so I don’t want to infringe on her request. If you’re into the city girl vibe, definitely check out her website. She has an upscale chic with a downtown play persona that only she possesses. Hannah Louise definitely knows who she is, and that kind of self awareness is really inspiring.

I found Mostly Morgan on Youtube. She’s a fashion, travel, and lifestyle blog. What I love most about her is how she is very transparent about her blogging career. She doesn’t mind sharing her own personal tips and tricks about how she got where she is today. She’s 22 years old. She built her blog her freshman year of her college career. She has been blogging for 3 years and she now does it full time. She’s basically exactly what I want to be in the near future. So I thought I’d share her, her story, and how she’s living proof that my dream is possible. I can visualize it through her.

Kelsey SimoneĀ

Kelsey Simone is the definition of Bad and Boujee if I ever did see it. She constantly hands out tips on being a bad b*tch on a budget (always helping out her fellow female). She has the best personality. I love watching her videos because she is just adorable. I wish I knew her in real life. I’ve been watching her on Youtube for awhile, but it’s awesome to see she has a blog as well. She is also a dream come true to me. She’s really come a long way. It’s nice because you can see how much work she puts into all her videos and her blog.

I’ve just been really trying to surround myself with inspirational characters. At times, it can be easy to look at other people’s success and get discouraged. I tend to sink into this pit of “Oh, I’ll never have that.” or start to feel really negative about the person I’m watching. But truly, this only turns that negativity back into my work.

A honest example of this is some time ago, recently, I was watching Kelsey Simone. She was doing an unboxing of the PR gifts she received from beauty companies. I started to feel jealous, because obviously it would be amazing to have random makeup delivered to your door for free. I started to think about my work, and how I wished that was me. But then, I realized that Kelsey has been working at this for a long time. She’s works very hard in all the things she makes for her viewers and readers. It would be a shame if her talent wasn’t noticed. And I thought to myself “She deserves it”. Ever since then, it’s been easier for me to look at others as inspiration instead of competition. We’re all out here just trying to live our best lives. Seeing these powerful and beautiful girl bosses flooding the music, the internet, and Youtube industries just really feels my heart with hope.

Thank you for reading this post and making it all the way to the end. Please, please, PLEASE check out some of these women. They really do some incredible things and deserve the praise. This post is completely unsponsored and written from the heart. I’ve been following these women for a little time now and am so proud to have found them.

That’s all for now folks. See you again on Monday for some fashion. Don’t miss it!!

Exploring My Town: A Tiny Story

Exploring My Town: A Tiny Story

One of the most common things I hear in my little town, and something I say just about every weekend is “there’s nothing to do”. And while in most cases this is definitely the truth, lately this tiny East Texas city has been hitting hard with fun holiday activities. I thought I’d share one that I went to over the weekend, and maybe even inspire you to get out there and explore your own small town.

Everyone can agree that downtown is usually where the party’s that. This past Sunday, Nov 5th, they hosted a open house for our small businesses. This was an effort in introducing many of the new businesses opening up, giving them a chance to meet potential customers. It also gave us, sa citizens, to meet new people, do some exploring, and have a little fun.

Basically, you go to one of the participating businesses and pick up a card. This card as each business’ logo on the back. The objective is to walk around downtown and get your card punched by each business, and then once you’ve visited them all, you turn in your card for a chance to win $1,000 in gift cards!!! How awesome is that? Who could use an extra $1,000 in Christmas money? And all you have to do is walk around and eat stuff. I thought this was a very generous gift, and one I was definitely going to try to get my hands on.

I frequent our downtown area a lot because I love the restaurants we have, as well as our thrift store and shops. It was nice to visit the new little shops and see the things they had to other. Along our walking journey I heard many people say things like “Oh, I’ve never been here before,” or, “Wow, I didn’t know y’all had all this.” I think this was the main goal of this event. It was a chance to get more involved in our community, which I’m so thankful they put together for us.

I think I take my small neck of the woods for granted. We do honestly live in one of the cutest little places. This community we have is so nice and caring. It’s easy to carry on a conversation no matter where we happen to be. I’ve lived here for about 5 or 6 years now, and I can say there’s still so much here I didn’t realize we had. I think one of the best things about our town is the amount of small business owners. It’s nice to see that kind of thing. It gives us a chance to shop local, which means so much to me.

The shop photographed above is our Farmer’s Wife market. It’s a local business offering a variety of different specialty foods, high quality meats and cheese, and they even offer wines now. They have hands down the best packaging on everything. I love stopping by this little shop to visit my friend Andi (Love Ya) and to see what kind of healthy gems I can find. This was just one of the cute little stores participating in the open house yesterday. Click on the photo above to visit their website for more information.

One of the best things about Open Houses is the free samples.

We got to try red velvet cake, some amazing cookies, chicken salad, and a cheese ball. There was all kinds of things to eat and drink, which made walking around a little hard to do after about the 3rd or 4th business we stopped by. This cute boutique called Anthem had the BEST COOKIES ever!!!! We almost went back for more, but decided not to be selfish because someone else should have the chance to experience those cookies. I really liked the vibe of the store, so I’ll have to stop by again. Maybe I should do a little haul of all the stuff I get from my local stores. Let me know if that’s something you’d be interested in.

This event was a small one, but it was a meaningful one. I enjoyed walking around with my boyfriend, going to see a little piece of what our town had to offer. We had fun looking around. We decided that we’re definitely going to go eat at Pear’s. They have a really interesting menu. I already know I LOVE the pumpkin and tomato bisque, but I’m curious about their salads. We’ll have to see.

I may have posted this on Monday, but this wasn’t necessarily a fashion post. I had a really cute outfit picked out for this day but it ended up being around 85 degrees Fahrenheit and your girl said NOPE. But no worries! Next Monday I have something planned for y’all that’s gonna knock your cozy little socks off. Just you wait.

Want to see what’s new and happening in our town? Visit here to see what’s happening for the rest of November. I know there’s going to be our annual Deck the Halls fest next weekend, so mark your calendars for that folks!

Thank you, as always sweet readers, for stopping by. You know I love sharing my life with all of you. Your support means the so much to me. See you soon,
